2023 Ropeless Consortium Annual Meeting

Meeting Format
The 2023 Meeting will take place at the Halifax Convention Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Capacity limits will be strictly enforced and therefore early registration is strongly recommended for those who wish to participate in person.
The Annual Meeting will feature primarily pre-recorded presentations submitted by both onsite and remote participants.
All registered participants (in-person and remote) will have a unique login to the meeting site which will allow for access to view all of the pre-recorded presentations that should be viewed in advance of the meeting. Participants will also have an opportunity to submit questions/comments in advance of the meeting as well as live during the meeting.
**NEW** For the 2023 meeting, we will use Zoom as an interface for remote and onsite participants to interact onscreen and audibly.
The live meeting will consist of a few live introductions and Q&A sessions with all presenters (both live and pre-recorded/viewed) in each of the topic sessions. All presenters from each session will be live on stage and/or on screen to take questions that were submitted in advance of the meeting, as well as those asked live by remote and in person participants. Each Q&A session will be moderated by a Board member.
Remote Participants: New this year - you will have opportunities to ask your question(s) live during the meeting. Simply raise your virtual hand and you will be put into the queue. The session moderator will alternate between in person and remote questions. You should be on mute until the moderators calls you in for your questions. You should NOT use the zoom chat for questions directed at presenters given the number of remote participants and how busy the chat is likely to be. You have the option to be on or off camera. Please know that on camera participants will be visible to onsite participants.
Onsite Participants: We will have two standing microphones in the meeting room. Participants wishing to ask a question should form queues at the mics and wait to be acknowledged by the session moderator. There will be an onsite participant camera so that remote participants can view questions and discussions from those onsite.

Workshops October 26th, 2023
Pending interest, the RC/NARWC Boards are happy to assist groups looking to host small meetings/workshops on Thursday, October 26th in conjunction with the Annual Meetings. Our support would entail:
- Connecting interested parties with local orgs/universities with potential space options (The convention center is not available on this day)
- Facilitating communication/outreach about meetings/workshops through email distribution
If you are interested and able to host a meeting/workshop on the 26th, please complete this FORM no later than July 7th. Once we have a list of available workshops, we will share with NARWC members to help plan travel arrangements.
Additionally - if you have a space in the Halifax area that might be available for small group meetings/workshops on 10/26, please reach out to the NARWC Admin with details.

Registration fees:
In-Person: $125 USD
Virtual: $100 USD
Registration closes on October 6, 2023. Given the technical requirements of the event, we will not accept registrations for the event after this date.
The meeting is closed to members of the press.
Registration for the NARWC meeting is separate and can be accessed via the NARWC Website.

The Ropeless Consortium is dedicated to providing a positive and productive conference experience for all attendees. To that end, we expect meeting attendees to abide by our Code of Conduct.
Videotaping, audiotaping, and photography of and during the Ropeless Consortium Annual Meeting are prohibited.
